Anne: How big of a plot do you have? Do you know how much tubing you need? I'm assuming you need both the large tubing and the micro tubing and the associated heads? What size heads do you need?
The other option is to use soaker hoses which might serve you just as well depending on garden size and the intensity of your planting.
We've got two plots totalling a little over 40' x 60'. Andrew says we need the following:
"It would be ideal to have large tubing to run the 30' lengths of the plots with smaller tubing running off every two feet. The smaller tubing would run the 20' lengths. We want valves on each of the smaller tubing so the plants that could be harms way of over watering could just be shut off while watering other plants. We would need 20 heads for each smaller tube.
All in all we need about 75 linear feet of large tubbing and 640 linear feet of smaller tubing.
We need 15 shut off valves for the smaller tubes along with 600 heads."
With the grant it is not a problem to purchase this, but wanted to check around for used first or best deals. Thanks!
