Mesquite Bean walk about

Hi All~ At the class this past weekend, I had mention that I would attach the file that contained the handout to this discussion list. Unfortunately, it appears that the file has been corrupted and will not open on command. I do have extra physical copies of this handout but I was really hoping that someone present on this list might have a scanner so that we could get a pdf attached here for easy access. If this is the case, if you could please email me at heather@yg2g.com, I would really appreciate it. Sorry for the inconvenience and we will get this remedied soon. thanks~ Heather

Heather: Let me work on typing it over and putting it on here.

BTW - thank you for the class. I'm now getting calls from other places asking if you can come teach a harvesting class there.

Oh - and I think I might have a carob tree sighting! The pods are still ripening.

Hi Heather and Jen,
I can scan in my handout and email it to you as a .pdf. Judy contacted me and we are headed there Fri morning for carob pods! I was wondering if the prep for them is the same procedure as for the mesquite beans? Thanks again for a fantastic class!

Ok, the gremlins have run off with my handout. I hope to be able to locate it later today, but it's missing this morning. Sorry!

Dear Heather and Jennifer,

I was at the Mesquite Bean Harvest walk about a few weeks ago and the beans were not quite ready. I haven't checked in with the Guild lately...Did you all already re-visit Granada Park and harvest or are we still waiting for the beans?

Thanks for the update! I don't want to miss out!

Hi Julie - Heather revisited the site a couple of days ago and the trees near the structure where we met have about 10 gal of pods on them - first come, first served. Looks like we're looking at a "rolling harvest" all summer due to that May rain. Heather will check back every week or so and keep us posted.
