I've just moved to Phoenix and will soon have many clean, empty cardboard boxes available for re-use. I would rather see them re-used rather than recycled, if possible. I have boxes of all shapes and sizes. Please let me know if you are interested.

Cardboard boxes also make nice bottom layers for lasagna gardening...

Hi Chloe - I am definitely interested but won't need them for about 1 year. If someone else takes them to use locally perhaps I could get them after that. Just a thought!

Hi All - Just an update. I will start unpacking next week and those cardboard boxes can be yours, if you want them. I can bring some to the market or you are welcome to stop by my new house near downtown to pick them up. If you want 1 or 2, or a whole boat load - just let me know.

There are a ton of permie uses for cardboard boxes! Journy to Forever has a great website devoted to creative ways to use cardboard boxes. Uses include everything from feeding them to your compost worms, to solar ovens, to egg incubator, and even how to make your own cardboard arm chair. (You know you need some patio furniture.)

Don't forget, cardboard can kill grass - the bane of our existence! If you lay it down over the grass and cover with rocks for instance, no light - no grass. Best yet, the cardboard decomposes. You can even use it for temporary composter or seedling starter.

I tell you, the possibilities are endless. :)

Hi Doreen,
I will gladly bring boxes for you to the market on Saturday! Thanks for taking me up on it. I think they will be great for killing grass. You'll have to post something so that everyone knows how that worked out for you. I know lots of people are on a grass killing mission.
