Happy New Years everyone!
Can anyone tell me where I can get wood chips to use as mulch and dust suppressor in my back yard?
I have left messages in some places recommended here, but no one has called me back and I am frankly tired of waiting, so I will give myself a new year present and get them, but I have no clue where to go and buy them. I live in the West side of town between 35 Ave and Dunlap.
So please send me any suggestions you may have, especially if you had a good experience with the company. Thanks a lot! Xenia
Comment by Dylan on January 1, 2013 at 9:38pm checkout southwest forest products. They have pine chips. I got a quote of $300 for 70 cubic yards.
Comment by MaryMcP on January 2, 2013 at 6:30am Jesse Huffman of Arborvision is at 23rd Ave and Northern. He can sometimes be hard to connect with as he's busy but he [finally] responded to my email and said: Mulch is here at 2345 west augusta ave. Bring your own pitchfork :)
Augusta is just south of Northern. He posted this on his blog so it's public info. The blog is here:

I have received a load of wood chips from him once before when he had a truck full to unload and he just drove his truck to my yard. I have not yet found the time to go by his yard to pick up more but think you probably can just visit with your truck! Hope this helps....it's FREE chips but of course the catch is you have to have way to transport the stuff back to your yard. Good luck with that.
Comment by MaryMcP on January 2, 2013 at 6:33am Xenia, since you are so close to him, he may be able to come by your place, like he did with me, when he has a truck full to unload. You should contact him and see if you can work that out.
Thanks a lot Dylan and MaryMcP I will definitely contact these people. :)
Comment by Dylan on January 2, 2013 at 8:52am great let us know your results.
OK I will. :)
Comment by Kim West on January 8, 2013 at 10:01am I called some local tree trimmers and one called back. He is dumping a truck load at my house today for free. It means he doesn't have to take it to the land fill so it is a win/win.
Comment by Dylan on January 8, 2013 at 11:54am wow. Can you post some pics when it arrives?
I left a message in Arbovision, but they have not contacted me. :( so I am still waiting.
Please tell your local trimmer that there are other people interested here, and you can even give him my phone number for future loads. I just don't know if you are far from me, so he may not deliver in my area, but just in case, my number is (623) 363-8674 :) Thanks!
