I'm down to my last month of total freedom before fall classes start. I've got all 4 compost bins going at full steam. and have started my fall planting. This slowed down the urbanite path project, but the seasons do not slow for my convenience.
I'll be cleaning the raised beds for Fall/winter planting next. This round is in-ground with frames. the squash is in the back, herbs in the front, and Sunflowers all around... eventually :D
I also got most of the grass out by a combination of roto-tilling and solarization with cardboard. The last of the cardboard is coming up as I start planting, and any rogue bermudagrass will be dealt with ruthlessly!
This year I have compost ready for mixing with native soil, unlike when I had to start the raised boxes with soil from the big box garden store. I expect good things from this plot!
I managed to get some path work done as well. Here is the path so far - I've made it to the planter and will be working around it this weekend:
The turn has been made!. Now all I have to do is fix the ragged edge.
Finally, greetings from my garden compost secret weapon:
