Hi back to you! We are just getting the final papers signed to get us access to the property for the garden. We have begun to line up sponsors and other people willing to donate goods and services to get the project off the ground and getting ready to set our first work date. I'll keep you posted when we're ready to get our hands dirty and when the next meeting is going to be! Liz

Laveen is south Phoenix near South Mountain... it used to be all cotton fields and dairy farms but is being taken over by subdivisions full of big new homes which are mostly empty right now. E-mail me your contact info and we can meet up some time: jollyroger_211@yahoo.com
Hello Ryan,
wow you spent five months at the channon! maybe you know Eric Seider, he was on the Jordan project with me and also did an internship at Zaytuna. As for Jordan, well it had its challenges (language, cultural, etc.) but I found it just as rewarding and learned alot. Hope to see you around and swap stories or what not.

Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't mean to give anyone the impression that I don't use a dishwasher or microwave to save energy--they just don't fit in well with my family's eating habits. I only mentioned it because a lot of people think I'm…
I've been thinking more about Montse Anderson's comment that maybe I'd waited too late to be planting my potatoes. It occurs to me that perhaps most folks on this site are in the closer-in suburbs of Phoenix. Out here, near Wickenburg, we're well ou…

You should be able to find all of those at valley feed stores except possibly the faverolles. When I had faverolles I got them from online. Honestly though, I got rid of them because they were LOUD. One of them went to a neighbor and I still hear it…
