stringy white mold

I have a stringy white mold under my compost mulch around trees. I mulch about 3inches deep and water once a week for at least 6 hours with 1 & 2 gal emitters. Most of my trees are only a year and half old and are all sub tropical fruit trees. Everything seems to be doing fine. Is this mold something I should address? It is centered closest to the emitters. Maybe my mulch is too thick and not allowing enough evaporation ? I can't imagine I am over watering trees this young in this… Continue

peters honey fig

have a peters honey fig. figs are drying up and falling off. only 1 1/2 yrs old. grew from a 2 foot tall stick to a 8 foot tree in this time but fruit is not making it. Is this common for a young fig tree? Does anyone have any experience with this specific variety here in phx. ? I'm starting to wonder if I chose a variety that doesn't do well here.

Hi Jeff, we should start an 85254 permies group. I think my anna apple breaking dormancy late has more to do with it being its first year in the ground. At least that's what I'm hoping for...Good luck to you in all your gardening adventures.

Hi Jeff...so sorry I didn't see your question. As for the figs drying and falling off..what a bummer. I didn't have that problem...and now that we have about 7 peters' honeys figs...I hope we have the same success. What about posting a question for discussion? Or perhaps by this time you found out your answer...if so, let me know. Another thought would be to call Bakers Nursery....I find them incredibly helpful as well.
