Thanks for the heads-up post Rachel! If the yellow taxi is what I'm thinking of, it is awesome! Very crisp and juicy with nice flavor (I confess, I don't have a great palate for fine flavor, which is why I salsa a lot). Julie at Baker just raved abo…

Looks like loads of fun!  Few design questions: - What rooms/windows are adjacent to the space? - In your west neighbors yard, NEC, is that a tree and will it (hopefully) grow a large canopy? - do you have HOA restrictions on structure visibility? (…

If the tomatillos are planted right next to each other they should have no problems with pollination on their own. If they are farther apart, I'd try picking a flower from one plant and using it to pollinate some on another plant. Glad to hear everything is going well!

One suggestion: If someone has a drip system / automatic sprinkler system, the could extend a section of PVC above ground(maybe afixed to a post), then have it turn two 90's so that a small 360 degree shrub head is upside down over the top of the compost pile. If done correctly, this could eliminate the need to manually sprinkle the compost pile (which could be helpful...especially if you go on a long vacation)

Vynnnie, noticed on your blog you said summer is a great time to plant native trees. Can I plant in August, even without the monsoon (which seems to be nonexistent this year)?
