Also, since the sulcata is from the Sahara Desert - our summer heat will not bother them (they will need shady areas or a cool burrow to hang out in during the hottest part of the day) but the heat is hard on the chickens and in the winter here, chi…
I am married and have two sons - my oldest is a freshman at New York University and my youngest is a sophomore in high school. I became a Master Gardener in 2007 but I 've been gardening most of my life. I frequently have to plan my garden around some of our pets - dogs who dig and a 150lb tortoise who eats plants or just rolls over them like a tank.

Thanks again for the leads. I am personally doing 2 classes in August for the H&G Center. I may link them with the PPG to see what to attendance will be like. I will look at the community center as well.
Michele - I did meet John and I am personally talking there August 1st. He doesn't think the PPG could as they must be FREE classes - but I am personally happy to help fit his need of presenters! Thanks for the lead.
Hi Michele, will you post a new picture of your barred rocks together in the microlivestock forum with their age? Maybe it will be more obvious to some of us who have had roosters if your bird in question is a he or a she.
Hello Michele,
Checking in to see when you will be able to make a payment to the PPG for the Permaculture Design Course. The discount deadline is the 31st and it is also a cut off point for the course happening.
We (the PPG) have kept the course fees really low for many reasons community being one of them but we have to have 10 paid students to make the course work (Pay expenses). So i'm asking you and all the others that have RSVP to let us know where you are in the process. And To pay as soon as possible
I was just reviewing John Jeavon's book How to Grow More Vegetables and in it he mentions planting Mexican marigold (Tagetes minuta) for controlling nematodes.
