Are your veggies getting chomped my mysterious critters in the garden? Or are you just curious about what all of things crawling and flying around in your garden are? Want to know which bugs are working for you, which are working against you, and wh…
At the upcoming Tree Day, the PPG will be making apples, cherries, pears, peaches, figs, and much more available. Many of them have been tested with success right here in Phoenix! It's coming together right now from an operational standpoing, so ple…
Dang, Ericka, those do sound like my beetley things. I have seen tiny eggs as you describe; I felt they were kind of coppery in color almost, and they were just the size you say. I did smush them, hoping that they were a naughty bug vs. a beneficial…
I think I bought my PattyPans from Botanical Interests as well - although it was a volunteer, I do know I bought PattyPans and tried to plant them earlier this year. It was way late though, after the heat had already started. Maybe they hung out for…
I do hope you get tons of squash, Scott! I too had a problem with the yellow leaves and wilt, then death, of a couple of volunteer Patty Pan squash I had in one area and then a volunteer whose identity appeared to be a melon of some type in a comple…
Not only will it be back this year, it'll be more awesome than ever! Karl Barton is running it this year, and he's pretty darn awesome in his own right...I can hardly wait either!
Dang! I didn't give you Jeff's name because I didn't realize he did such townhome complexes and the like. He has done a design and install service on my property, and I highly recommend him. It's well worth your time to give him a call.

Hi Jane! I actually grew up in the NW, my hubby and i move to SC to see if we wanted to do Chiropractics, but decided to follow our dreams ..im doing Oriental medicine and he is doing sound engineering :) i loved the NW while i was there but after living in SC for two year am sure i cant go back to the gray drearyness! with the prickly pears where do you go pick them at if you dont have any at your house? I would love to try some! and Id like to do some wild foraging if you know of any one who does this maybe a few of us can get to gether some time to pick some desert fuits!
Thanks so much for the eggs! They are delightful :) It was wonderful to meet your chickens and see your set up. It also makes me smile to know that our table scraps can go to good use, rather than in the trash.
Hi Jane! We have a big bag of table scraps for your chickens on Saturday! I left out the garlic and onions :) Looking forward to trying some farm fresh eggs! See you then..
I love your photo's. Now that my day slowed down, I thought I would take a look at your photo's. Your array of chickens are awesome and I love the garden! I hope they integrate well. Also my daughter noticed your purse, she thought it was cute!
Morning: I'd stick with Ken. If you are talking about the place by the dump, (27th ave I think) I never went back. Their stuff was too black and too amonia smelling. It was black even though all the stuff wasn't broke down. There is the guy south of the river bottom on 35th. He's a little cantankourous. He wouldn't let me go back to look at the stuff, and his smallest load is 4 yards. too big for my toyota. He talked a good game and the stuff looked good from a hundred yards away.
I will go directly to the source for the seeds, I thaught you wanted to get rid of them all. No Biggie, There is wild amaranth growing there now. They might die in the heat, they are just sprouts now. If they make it to 6" tall I'll harvest some greens and whack down the rest for the worms. Thnx for getting back, have a fun day- charly
Hi, I eavesdropped on your offer to Eva for the ground cover seeds. If she did not take you up on it, I could use them. I have earthworm castings as a return gift.
