Finished the Permaculture Design Course called "Earth Activist Training" in Jan. '07. Into organic gardening. Volunteer in Highest Heaven Garden in Tempe (formerly the Gentle Strength Co-Op Garden) since 2005. WWOOFed in Costa Rica. Currently researching the psychosocial benefits of community gardening & the possibilities for climate change mitigation and community-building, of an extensive network of community gardens.
Hey Heather! I've meant to write you for awhile now.. I actually helped with the garden event (a year ago?) that you photographed in your slideshow above... Anyway.. I vaguely recall helping the kids paint with you, Suean and Myron... I am a speech therapist and have an active school garden in north central Phx. Wondered if you had any advice on using some psycho-social data re: the therapeutic effects of gardening to get some modest funding.. I would love some grant $ to help our school! So I cooked the first of the rabbits we processed last week. Fried it like chicken. What went wrong is I have never fried chicken and I cooked it too long resulting in rubber rabbit so I popped it into the crockpot for three hours and it was divine…

Thanks for the heads up. When should transplants go in? It's so stinking hot out there! I have an area preparred and ready to go but dragging my feet in fear of the heat.
