"About Me" used to say ....I just moved to Phoenix, one of my first destinations was the Downtown Market. I am so thrilled by the prospect learning from and sharing with groups like the Phoenix Permaculture Guild!
I have now been here over a year and I help manage the volunteer effort for the Guild at the Downtown Market and Chair the Program Committee that organizes all of our great classes and events. Anyone who would like to help out by volunteering for the Guild or working on the Program Committee, please feel free to contact me.
Hope to meet you at one of these events soon, too!
You are from Miami? I used to live in Key West years ago and my husband in Coconut Grove. We still have good friends and relatives in Sarasota, Miami and Stewart.
Hi Chloe,
Great meeting you the other day at the Homeless Services Campus tour! I'd love to talk with you more sometime about all things permaculture, sustainable, and progressive.
Ciao ciao,
Heather :)
Hi Chloe - I just wanted to mention how nice it was to meet you this morning at the book club meeting. I enjoyed the converstion so much, and can't wait for the next gathering!
Hey Chloe - Doreen here about the Community Garden in Coronado. I just spoke to Nick of the Porbation Office and he said YES- we can begin to do some work in the back yard (he has already spoken to the landlord).
He did ask that I contact his partner, Cody, to check in with her as she wants to be involved. There are afew other in the n-hood who may also.
Let's set a time to at least talk - I would love to put in a 3 sisters garden!
Welcome to Phoenix! I just recently joined the PPG and am looking forward to getting know people downtown. I've been living down here for almost a year and I don't feel like I've really built up a community. Hopefully we'll both have the opportunity to pitch in @ the market.
Welcome to Phoenix, Chloe! If you haven't been here in the summer before, just remember, it's all over in about 5-6 months, after which you can gloat to your friends that are buried under snow. Looking forward to seeing you at the Market!
Hi all- I would like to order some Cornish X next week, but would prefer to have my mother in law raise them in Prescott rather than in Phx. Anyone know how Cornish X will do in cooler weather up in Prescott?

So I cooked the first of the rabbits we processed last week. Fried it like chicken. What went wrong is I have never fried chicken and I cooked it too long resulting in rubber rabbit so I popped it into the crockpot for three hours and it was divine…
I was just reviewing John Jeavon's book How to Grow More Vegetables and in it he mentions planting Mexican marigold (Tagetes minuta) for controlling nematodes.
Hi Brittany,
Now is sure the time to be making Kombucha since it's been gone off the shelves for a few months now. I so miss it! I hope and pray that the issues get resolved and it comes back.
I've had some really good success with making Kombucha…
Hi Chris - I don't have a PH tester. I've always just added bagged composted mulch, steer manuer and Starbucks grounds to my existing AZ soil to ammend. Some years my spring tomatoes are really good and sometimes not so good. Is there anything in ad…
