Me too, me too. I was consistantly getting 3 eggs a day & now nothing for 3 days. I think it is light & weather related. I also have a girl who seems broody. We broke her of the "sit in the nest all day" thing, now she just seems to want to hang th…

Well HELLO!
I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering where you have been and what you have been up to! Silly hens! We had one go broody this summer, they all molted, went on strike, but seem to be back in the groove. We are trying to start the winter garden, but it has been slow going. About ready to "cheat" and get starts, these seeds are driving me crazy! Our chicks have been sequestered to the coop until the garden can handle them. They eat everything, and they are FAST!

Hey Beth... how's life on your "farm".....:-)

Hubs is getting ready to re-build our coop and you were so kind to send me links of where you bought yours from Lowes (I think)...for the life of me, I can't find that email you'd sent Would you - in a spare moment - be so kind to send it again? thanks! lylah

Beth,
Hope your chick is doing better! Something I give my girls as a health tonic that they love is plain yogurt with minced fresh garlic.

It was great meeting you too! I love home tours, it helps to generate ideas. Since we are so close we could be chicken backups to each other if baby sitters are needed for hens :)

Ooh, I do like the idea of naming them after authors. But I guess it's more important to keep the kids happy-lol!
Take care,
Judy

Beth, Thanks for the compliment on Ophelia. All my chickens are named after Shakespearean ladies (Lady Macbeth, Juliet, Cordelia, and now Ophelia) since my husband is a huge Shakespeare fan.
Best wishes!
Judy
