The only old plants remaining are the Natal Plums that I love to prune like Bonsai (sorta). We took out tons of dirt from the lawn area and added about 120 cubic ft. of bagged compost, gypsum, sulphur and a little fertalizer for newly planted lawns before having the turf laid.
We first hired the curbing laid to take up as much lawn area as the sprinkler pattern would allow and did the raised planter ourselves. Now I'm trying to figure out what I can plant that won't shout "I'm edible, come steal me" to take advantage of the added planting area. I'm thinking maybe beets and carrots to go along with the Saffron Crocus.
