Hi Barb! This is Harry Mendoza! And I just want to know one thing...how did you find out out about these chickens? Great to see you're still around.

Hey Harry! Fancy meeting you here. Are you raising chickens? I just started in November, for the eggs. I thought I would just need 3 or 4, but we use a lot of eggs and it would also be nice to have extra to sell or give as gifts. And it is too hard to settle on just a few breeds once you get started so I am going to have a lot more than I expected. I am building a flock with just one each of my favorite breeds, with a few exceptions. Right now I have 8 pullets; 1 buff orpington, 1 wellsummer, 1 easter egger, 1 golden laced wyandotte, 1 silver laced wyandotte, 2 black australorps (had to get 2 chicks initially for company; now my daughters won't let me sell one so I am keeping both) and 1 delaware. Eventually I will also have my speckled sussex, a dominique and hopefully a pure-bred blue ameraucana. I also have 2 sheep to mow the lawn. I am having a great time with my chickens. Life was becoming so boring and I have been biding my time until all the kids are off to college and we can move somewhere colder and wetter with enough space for a proper hobby farm. I am currently in the process of building a second coop as an annex to the first. I also raise vegetables. What are you up to?

Great! My dining room table isn't complete without a cage full of chicks peeping. What did you order for yourself?

Well lets see... we've got 5 iowa blues, 13 Amerecaunas, 5 Dark Brahmas, 9 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and 7? Blue Wyandottes... I think that's right. Have 5 Turkens, 5 Amerecaunas and 5 Hamps at the house for a friend too until they get feathered out and our friends get their pen up. Plus we had 30 of the quail eggs hatch today. Got more to go and Kristin's got quite a few due to start any time now :) Birdies shipped today from Iowa, so they should be here Wed :) Do you want to swing by and grab them Wed (provided they get here then)?
