I've been looking online at the Global Sun Oven, I've been kind of disappointed in the performance of my own home build sun oven. I'd rather buy local and support local businesses if possible, rather than pay a better price only to pay even more in shipping.

Hi Janine, that sounds great, let me know when you get the ovens, and I'll get the cash and bring it over. Re: chickens, they do get stressed out at any environmental change. Depending on what you mean by moving them around, they should be all right. It's just that they like the place they're used to. HTH

Give Martha or Mike Port at SOS a call - 612.623.4700. They are the ones to help you sort it out. Thank you both so much!!

Did you get a solar oven yet? We will possibly have one for sale - new one. We're ordering a few of them.

Hi Anne,

Great class today!! It really excited me. I found the Hot Pot cooker on gaiam.com for $99. It was also on ebay for $99 and it looked like it might include the shipping. Actually, gaiam has all the cookers. They are under the Eco home and outdoor living tab, then green living and finally solar cooking.

Can't wait to try this.

Hi Cheryl....

When I was researching all the solar ovens - I ended up blogging about them all - and yup...Giam has them - here's my link for you http://lylahledner.blogspot.com/2009/03/save-money-cook-with-solar-...

Hope this helps. So, what did you learn that you didn't know at Anne's class?

Hi Lylah,

I didn't realize how easy and cost effective it can be. Sounds like after a day at work (small detail: need to find a job after layoff) I could just go out and pick up dinner in the backyard all done in the ovens, add a green salad and be done.

Can't wait to get started!

It's great. The only thing that can be a speed bump is high wind. Friday, I had chicken soup simmering and that afternoon wind gobbled it all up! I blogged about my bread experience and my roasted chicken experience too. It is wonderful! What kind are you thinking of buying?

Hi all- I would like to order some Cornish X next week, but would prefer to have my mother in law raise them in Prescott rather than in Phx.  Anyone know how Cornish X will do in cooler weather up in Prescott?    Jay
