Event Description

Container Gardening with Edibles with Vynnie McDaniels
Requested donation: $10 (Cash or check only)

FREE Parking: The best place to park is at a free lot on 5th street & Ash (just west of Mill). Then walk toward the tall CenterPointe condo building and you'll see all the white tents for the Market on Mill in the courtyard by the large bronze rabbits & fountains there at the base of the MadCap Theater, which used to be the old Harkins Theaters.

Whether you're growing on a balcony, supplementing your garden plot or just wanting to beautify a patio, containers are a great way to produce your own edibles in a manageable way. This step-by-step workshop focuses on challenges of container gardening specific to Phoenix and the Southwest. Learn about potting soils, watering options, mulch and the importance of location. Be prepared to take lots of notes as Vynnie the Gardener shares his professional tricks-of-the-trade and his holistic methods for success to get big results in a small space. This workshop is ideal for apartment dwellers, homeowners, beginning gardeners, and seasoned green thumbs.

The class at the MADCAP theaters will be held as usual, but we've had an issue come up with Centerpoint (the people who own the plaza out front) removing power for the Market on Mill this Thursday. So the class will continue, but the Market on Mill will not be there due to lack of power this week. Thanks all.
